My Kitchen Makeover: White Painted Cabinets

Hi all!  I am super excited to share this post with you all!

For years I've been dreaming of having white painted cabinets in my kitchen.  I finally did it and now I LOVE MY NEW KITCHEN!

It's so light, bright and clean looking and I love that!

 Here are the before photos:

and this here is what my kitchen looks like now:

I hired a professional to spray the doors and I painted all the rest in Farmhouse Paint in Creamy Linen color. We color matched the creamy linen color for the doors and cabinet faces. I would have preferred to hire the entire thing out and have everything sprayed, but it was a bit too expensive, so I chose to go this route.

Because I wanted a cleaner look in my kitchen, and we weren't changing our backsplash, I had my husband cut a board that fits perfectly inside the square tile area behind my cooktop.  I painted it with chalkboard paint and then I painted the established year on it. This is the year that my husband and I got married.

If you want to see more of that kitchen command center on the side of my fridge, you can find the post here.

The island lights are from Lowes.  The barstools are from Pier One. (You can find the links at the bottom of this post.) I totally lucked out on the bar stools. I found 2 that had some damage on them and I got them for more than 75% off!! I was so super excited about this deal!

Those adorable large mason jars on the counter are from Walmart.  I filled them with flour, sugar and powdered sugar. I love the look of these!!

The topiary is from Ikea.

I also made the "As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord" sign.

I may still add a burlap roman style curtain.

Here are the before and after photo's side by side:

It's amazing what some paint, new bar stools and light fixtures can do to change the look of a space.

I love. love. love the new look in my kitchen! The brightness just makes me happy and this kitchen is definitely more me!

Here is the source list:

Wall Color - Sherwin Williams Tony Taupe
Cabinet Color - Farmhouse Paint Creamy Linen
Hanging Island Lights - Lowes
Bar Stools - Pier One
Rugs - Overstock
Wood Signs - Painted by me
Large Mason Jars - Walmart
Topiary - Ikea

May you be a little inspired!
Until next time,

August Challenge: Organizing and Cleaning the Front & Back Entry Way

Hello!

It's August! Which means, if you are following along with the Delightful Order Monthly Organization Challenge, we are focusing on getting our front and back entry ways organized and cleaned up this month.

This month, I challenge you to:

Organize shoes, getting rid of ones that don't fit.

Organize jackets, scarves, etc. getting rid of ones that don't fit.

Create a place for backpacks, if you haven't already

Clean and organize entry closets

Dust Baseboards

Wash Walls & Windows

Scrub Floor

AND..

Since school is starting soon, how about creating an organized child homework message center area, complete with hooks for backpacks and all. (Read all about my original post here.)

I sell many child message center digital designs in my Etsy Shop, right here.  They are sent to you via email as an instant download. Simply print your message center at your local photo print shop and frame it under glass to get you and your children organized for the school year. If you'd like, hot glue a clip to the glass to hold important papers, homework, reminders, invites and more.  I have used this system for about 5 years now and I still totally LOVE it! I just need to update my wall and add one more message center, since I've had another boy since originally creating this section.

Have a great month bringing Delightful Order to your entry ways!

This post is part of the Monthly Organization Challenge. You can join the challenge at any time. Go HERE to see all the posts and bring Delightful Order to your home and life this year.
