Our Second House (The Tour)

We built our second house and moved into it in 2004.  We moved out of it in 2007.  It was a daylight basement house and we loved it.  Honestly, we do miss this house.  If we were to ever build again, we would want another one-level house, possibly with a daylight basement or maybe a one-level with a bonus room above the garage.

Today, I'm giving you the tour of our second house. Soon, I'll give you the tour of our current house.

I'm going to apologize right now, because I don't even have one photo of the downstairs.

KITCHEN/BREAKFAST NOOK

This photo is one that was taken before I painted and switched the curtains in the breakfast nook....

... as is this one too. (Unfortunately, I don't have a photo of this area with the new paint and curtains.)

MASTER BEDROOM
I never got around to decorating our master bedroom.  Actually the one I have now really isn't finished either.  It seems like I haven't ever finished the master bedroom. I've heard the master bedroom is the one that you should do first, so you have a "retreat" to get away to, but often times it's left as the last room to decorate.

Come back soon to see the floor plan and the tour on our current house.

Front Porch Fall Decor

Hello all!  It's FALL! One of my favorite times of the year!
Last week I spent some time sprucing up my front porch for fall.

I added a wreath, a few mums to my pots, plopped down some pumpkins and voila.. I turned it into a festive fall-ish front porch.
I scored this adorable wreath at Joann Fabrics for 50% off. I had an additional 20% off of that, so I was pumped!  70% off, yes I think I'll take it.
A few weeks back I found this mat at Bed, Bath & Beyond and I LOVE it!  The middle section can be replaced too.

I love adding a little color to the porch.
 The orange pumpkins are real...

.. and the white ones are fake.
I showed you how I spray painted them and added a little glitter to them in this post here.
I picked up these pumpkins today at Ross....
... and I totally LOVE them.

There you have it, my Front Porch Fall Decor.

Our First House (The Tour)

We built and moved into our first house back in 2000.   In the Spring of 2002, we moved out of that house and into a rental, while we built our second house.  I'll show you the tour of our second house next week.

Today, I'm giving you the tour of this house.

Please excuse the quality of the photos.  These are scanned photo's, because this was way back in the olden' days (as my boys would say) before I owned a digital camera.

That concludes the tour of the first house that my husband and I built.

Back then, I was just trying to figure out my style, what it was that I liked and what I didn't like and was just "learning how to decorate." I had only been married (and out of my parents home) for a little over a year before I decorated this place.  I'm amazed at how much my style has changed! Just wait till you see the tour of our second house and then the one of my current house. You'll see a big difference and you'll know what I'm talking about.

May you be a little inspired!
