Teacher Appreciation Gift - Flower Pens

Next week is teacher appreciation week. (May 2-6, 2011)  I LOVE teachers and truly believe that it is a GOD-given ability to do the job they do.  A huge thanks to all you school teachers!!  You are making a difference!!

Here's a lil' somethin' I threw together today for my boys' school teachers to show them our appreciation for them:
and the GREAT thing is that it's so inexpensive to create!
The artificial flowers, the pot, river rock and the gardening shovel came from the Dollar Tree.
I added some ribbon around the pot and the shovel.
I bought a pack of pens and added the flowers to them like so:
First I hot-glued the stem of the flower to a pen, then wrapped floral tape around it, added a little raffia ribbon and Voila - created some cute flower pens.  It's SO VERY simple!
The pens rest nicely in the river rock.
I wanted to personalize the gift  for our wonderful teachers, so I called my mother and together we came up with this poem:
I also wanted to add some sayings to the middle of each flower:
So I created these circle tags, then printed, cut them out and mod podged the paper (so it won't tear.)  Then I simply hot-glued them to the middle of the flowers...
...and I LOVE it!!
I created six sayings relating to gardening:
A teacher helps a child blossom, bloom, grow, flourish, sprout and thrive.
This is a quick and easy gift to create and it's useful too, which I LOVE!

I also love sharing with my readers, so I've created a set of the circles and the poem for YOU to print from your computer, if you'd like to use this idea.

Here is your  F R E E  printable:
Just click on the image above, right mouse click and save image to your computer.
I made another teacher appreciation gift with some of these tags too.  I'll show you that one soon.

Have a Blessed Weekend!
:)
May you be a little inspired!
Until next time,
DaNita

Inexpensive Easter Basket Ideas

With only 2 days before Easter, I finally finished putting together my boys' Easter baskets.
I HAD to create something on the cheap, so I went to the good ole' Dollar Store, the other day, and found these baskets:
Which I plan on re-using for more organizing. ;) they won't mind... all they want is the candy.) I also bought some of this:
only because I was out of it (and I use this for a LOT of things) I'll re-use this too ;)
I found a package of these marshmallow twists and I made this out of them:
I just tied raffia ribbon around them to hold the two together. Super Easy AND a great reminder of the TRUE meaning of Easter!!

I stuffed the basket with the  paper shred, eggs and candy and one little toy (also from the dollar tree.) I used cellophane wrap...
...which I had in my lil' gift wrap station and wrapped it around the basket.  Then tied raffia ribbon around the cellophane and the cross and ...
...added a fun little Easter tag (which I made FREE for my lovely readers, at the bottom of this post.)
AND VOILA...
I made four simple, easy and inexpensive Easter baskets for my boys to "hunt for" on Easter morn.

Wishing you a TRULY BLESSED EASTER!!!

Always Remember List

Kids say and do the funniest things. A parent wants to remember the funny, cute stories to share with their children when they're older. (I love hearing stories from my young days.)

As a mother of four, I easily forget. So I decided to create this printable 'Always Remember' list.
My plan is to simply jot the story down as soon as it happens and that way... I will ALWAYS REMEMBER and my children will be able to laugh at the stories when they're older.  I have added some blank lines, so you would address it like so: ________(write the name here) on ____ (write the date here) when you were ____ (write the age here) and then check the box that applies and jot down the story on the lines below.
This listing is for a high resolution PDF DIGITAL FILE, which is emailed to you to download and print on 8.5 x 11 paper. This allows you to have unlimited printing abilities.

The sheet comes with two lists on one page. Simply print as many as you'd like, cut them out and staple, or hole punch them together and anytime a story worth remembering happens, write it down and you too, can Always Remember!

Click on any of the above photos to be directed to the item in my SHOP Remember, you can always find all the items for sale in THE MY SHOP TAB at the top of this blog.  More items coming to my Etsy store soon!
:)

May you be a little inspired!
UNTIL NEXT TIME,  DaNita
